Cashflow Quadrant

Been reading this new book lately, Its like .. part 2 of the best seller, 'Rich Dad Poor Dad'.

I previously had views like to be successful you have to be smart. It still hasn't changed after reading. (in this case ... successful = financially rich).

Some say Bill Gates is successful (because he's rich .. duh !!) ... and yeah he dropped out of college. But he was smart ... in a way in which he bought someone else's product(no idea whose) .. and built a successful system around it, and the product wasn't good to begin with. In the same way McDonalds built a system around an ordinary burger business. Yes you can argue their marketing strategy is evil and targets small children .. true .. but its a dog eat dog world out there. Live with it.

It takes some educating to be financially intelligent. Things we can't learn in schools these days.

This book tells how we should stop prioritizing of job security, the view of the industrial age, the way we were taught to think. Instead we should move on to the information age, and be financially intelligent ... survival of the fittest ... or in this case .. survival of the smartest.
We are responsible for our financial state indefinitely.

The book also strengthens my views in which to be successful you have to continuously think.
It also shows that change is needed in yourself to do what it takes to be successful. One great example given was to get a perfect body.
Quote : "Its not the diet that counts. Its who you have to be to follow the diet that counts".
Another example was to find the perfect romantic partner.
Quote : "So many people go to bars or to work to find the perfect person, the person of their dreams. That is what they 'do'. What they 'do' is go out to look for that person instead of work on 'being the right person'. (some may argue that this applies to me .. well .. my rebuttal is .. I'm not looking for a partner .. haha .. not yet anyway).

I'll end this post with a few favourite quotes from the book.
"Many people will not head down the street until all the lights are green. That is why they don't go anywhere".
"If you do what everyone else does, you'll wind up with what everyone else has".

and my favourite ...
"Its not how much money you earn, but its how much you keep, and how much is working for you".
